Women’s Day 2024

February 19, 2024

Greetings:

THANK YOU for your generous support of our 2023 Women’s Day Project. Because of your generosity, our goal of $7,500 to establish a permanent scholarship fund to assist Reformed Episcopal Deaconesses and Deaconess Candidates enrolled in academic programs for deaconess training was doubled. A total of $14,256.78 was collected.

Our 2024 Project Offering Goal is to present a gift of $10,000 to Grace and Gerhard Meyer in recognition of and appreciation for their 50 years of service as Reformed Episcopal Missionaries to Germany as they retire from the mission field. Grace and Gerhard have served together in Germany since 1974, when they were received as Reformed Episcopal Missionaries to engage in youth ministry. Grace is the daughter of Reformed Episcopal Missionaries to Germany, Herman and Lil Brodish, who started the Knull Camp ministry as a way of reaching young people for Christ. Following in their footsteps, Grace later became the director of the Knull Camp, and Gerhard, in addition to working with the camp ministry, took over Herman’s role as area director for Global Outreach Mission. With the reunification of Germany in 1990, the Knull Camp became a refugee center as well as a Christian camp, widening the scope of evangelism to former East Germans. Perhaps the ministry that most Reformed Episcopalians associate with the Meyers is English Camp, established in the early 1990s. By 1993 Gerhard had established a Reformed Episcopal Church in Germany and was consecrated bishop in 2006. He currently oversees the missionary convocation of Germany and Saint Benedict Seminary (Schwarzenborn).
